Our programme of confidence-building, engagement, guidance and support aims to offer young people an alternative to risky behaviour, isolation and failure.  By focussing solely on their emotional responses and practical needs we can tailor the programme to the individual, without applying peer pressure and time constraints. 
We offer each young person an individual, personally tailored mentoring programme to cover specific circumstances and expected outcomes.

A powerful mentoring service for young people

Having worked in a behavioural school and an Alternative provider we are aware of the need for and the limitations of these provisions.  Young people can find themselves in a situation where academic focus is not a priority due to home circumstances, anxiety and peer issues.  Isolation, low self-esteem and lack of positive direction can lead to poor choices which affect the whole community.  We aim to educate our clients through mentoring, the affect their actions have on others around them, the exciting options open to them and the benefits of positive relationships with everyone in their community.

Broadening the young person's mind

Improving young people’s attitude to learning opens up academic and social opportunities.  Working on self-esteem and aspirations enables them to choose employment, social and sporting activities and hobbies to fulfil their aspirations.  This reduces the chances of criminality, drug and alcohol misuse and anti-social behaviours.

Closing the gap between education and emotion

Our programme focuses on improving communication skills and self-evaluation so that young people learn to recognise areas of risk and learn methods to control anger and negative responses.  We work on providing the support which can be the missing link between a successful transition from school placement to further education or employment.  Because we focus on the emotional responses and the practical needs of young people, we are not inhibited by achieving academic progress and can work at the individual’s own pace and tailor our work to suit their needs.
